Give voice to your images with audio description

With audio description, you make your audio-visual production accessible to the blind and visually impaired. What’s more, you also give the ‘multitasking viewer’ more information when you describe what’s happening on screen.

A vocal narration of what’s on screen

Of course, people with a visual impairment enjoy TV, film and video content, as well. They ‘experience’ the footage primarily with their ears. With audio description, your ‘listening target audience’ hears a vocal commentary, in addition to the regular dialogues. The commentary provides extra descriptive information. For example, the voice describes what the characters look like, what the setting looks like, how the characters behave and which emotions they express.

The extra vocal commentary is mixed in nicely between the dialogues, so that the whole forms a pleasant listening experience. The goal is for everyone to be able to follow what’s going on without having to see what’s on screen.

Audio description is a special kind of work.
